Rowan McKinley isn't looking for one wild night while vacationing in Vegas, but she gets it anyway when she meets professional poker player-and professional ladies' man-Breck Wilder. Breck's easygoing charm and lighthearted banter draw in the reserved Rowan, and though she's always dreamed of the kind of forever love her best friends Sidney and Kade share, she'll settle for one night with the charismatic player.
After their crazy one-night stand, Breck never expected to see the mysterious redhead again. So when he shows up at a Shamrock Falls B&B looking to get away for a few weeks and Rowan answers the door, he's floored. Breck's rolling-stone lifestyle and ill-fated history with women means he's not interested in anything long-term. But the longer he stays at the B&B, the more he considers dropping the poker face and putting all his cards on the table...for Rowan.

I'm a fan of Nyrae Dawn (Charade), and when I found out she also wrote under Kelley Vitollo I picked up Lucky Break. I really liked the pacing and plot of Lucky Break and found out a week before the release date of Luck Of The Draw that she had written a sequel. I waited for it all weekend and picked it up when it finally showed up on Amazon at about 11pm Sunday night. I stayed up until I finished it! (I was lucky that my boss was leaving town Monday morning!)I was really happy that she chose to base this story on Rowan. I loved her character from Lucky Break. She was such a well rounded character and a good friend to Sydney and Kade. I have to say she was definitely my favorite character in this book. That's not to say I didn't like Breck, but I found Rowan's character to be more realistic. I would love to see more of their life in another sequel and feel like the author has really set up Jace and Betsy to be the stars of her next book if she is indeed continuing the Shamrock Falls series. I'm crossing my fingers!

Luck of the Draw A Shamrock Falls Novel edition by Kelley Vitollo Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I really love the Shamrock Falls series!! I cant wait for the 3rd book to be realesed, and I'm assuming
that one will be about Jace and Betsy relationship!
But let's talk about this one. This being the second one of the series, did justice to Rowan, a great supporter character in 'Lucky Break', the first novel. She deserved her own story, and boy she's got a great one!!
After her to best friends - Sydney and Kade- finally got together, she cant help to feel a bit jelous for what they have, even when she's really happy for them. More than jelousy, she feels that she'll never get something like that a best friend that can also be the love of her life.
She's grown up feeling always a bit left out, the only girl in a family of three big brother, when her parents had her, she wasnt planned, her brothers were already big and even though she knows she was loved, she could help always feel a bit behind. Then here parents passed away and she had to learn from a very young age to take care of herself.
In a trip to Las Vegas she meets sexy, dropdead-gourgos Breck Wilder - great name for a sexy male character if you ask me!- He's a player, in the whole extend of the word. Life's just a game for him and he makes a living out of it. He's a gambler, poker player.
One month after one night-stand with Breck - that she surprised herlself got in it, cuz isnt her style- The handsome players shows up at her recently open B&B to vacatione for a little while in Shamrock Falls. They're both shocked, didnt expect to see each other again, less under those circumstances sharing the house for several weeks. The cards are dealt and life becomes a game that can change both their life forever!!
I sort of disliked this book. Maybe it just wasn't my style (I like the brazen and ignite books better than bliss maybe?) Or maybe I was in the wrong state of mind when I read it but there were several things about this book that really bothered me. The first thing that I just couldn't get past were the ridiculous teeny bopper names all the characters had. Rowan, Jace, Breck, Sidney, Kade... it was as if a junior high girl had chosen them and it just made me want to quit reading it. It was like getting into 'the girl with the Dragon tattoo' with all the Scandinavian names except instead of being hard to read these just made me roll my eyes. Then there was the whole premise of her being pregnant that was just weird and uncomfortable. Also there wasn't much to the two love scenes in the book. Maybe that's the way the bliss books are written. I don't know but I won't find out because I probably won't read another.
So I didn't HATE it or I wouldn't have finished it... but I didn't really like it either. I you are looking for a Hallmark channel kind of story this will probably do it for you.
Rowan is in Las Vegas for a convention before she goes home to Shamrock Falls to open her bed and breakfast. She is feeling a little lost and lonely since she was supposed to meet her brother and her stood her up. When Breck Wilder, a professional poker player, tries to pick her up, she is very uninterested but strangely charmed by this handsome guy who can make her laugh. One thing lead to another and they end up in bed together. Rowan sneaks out after they make love planning never to see him again and wondering what she was thinking.
As is the case in romance novels, Breck shows up at her B & B when he needs to get away from it all. Seems he went to college with one of Rowan's friends from town and get a recommendation from him about a place to stay. The first thing Rowan does when she sees him is faint. He is very much the gentleman and insists she see a doctor.
Rowan is surprised to learn that she is going to have a baby and just doesn't know how she will tell Breck. When she feels him out, she quickly learns that he has no interest in settling down, having a relationship or ever having kids. This leaves Rowan with quite a dilemma which becomes even more complicated when they spend time together and begin to fall in love. Falling in love makes Rowan feel guilty and makes Breck confused. He isn't about to take a chance on love since he was betrayed by the woman he married when he was nineteen.
The dialog was witty. The relationships were well-written. Rowan is lonely and feels a little jealous that her friends in town are building their own relationships. I liked the friendships between the characters. Rowan had a lot more support than she thought she had as witnessed by the number of people who warned Breck not the break her heart.
This was a quick read. It was fast-paced, filled with emotion, and not at all explicit. Romance readers will enjoy meeting Breck and Rowan and watching them work out their relationship.
