Photoshop Basic Training for Architects eBook Dan Fargo Reviews
It's got about as much information as a coworker leaning over your cube wall and talking to you for 45 seconds. Even cheap, it isn't useful enough to be worth it.
I'm not an architect, but as an editor-designer, I use Photoshop regularly. Photoshop Basic Training for Architects, while targeting the specialized needs of architects, is packed with truly useful information for anyone who uses Photoshop and wants to "up their game."
This book not only contains great content - tips, suggestions, examples, "how-to's" - but not surprisingly, reflects a designer's touch in its own layout and design. Just moving through its pages is a visual pleasure.
Current-generation owners may not get the full benefit of the abundant color throughout the book, but that shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing it. For one thing, books already appear in color when using 's free for PC or for Mac applications (reading apps also available for iPad, iPhone, and Droid). And just this week, came out with its Cloud Reader, so you can read books in your browser. Finally, it's an open secret that is working hard on introducing it's own next-generation color .
Enough on the stuff, though! What I really want here is to encourage you to add this excellent Photoshop guide to any others you may have. Author Dan Fargo, whose high-ranked website [...] is itself a goldmine of architecture and web design info, has put together in this book a focused, concentrated array of useful help for any Photoshop user - from newbie to old pro.
After sections on Photoshop's tools and on basic photo editing, Dan lets readers look over his shoulder as he applies his approaches to a "live" project - a case study that makes learning his ideas a slam dunk.
The book closes with a section on resources and recommended tools. I found several links here that I bookmarked to explore soon. I've been using Photoshop since it first came out, and even so, I learned some immensely useful new techniques in this book. If you do yourself the favor of getting it, so will you!
When I first read this pamphlet on my , I wasn't too impressed. Then I read the first review and took the suggestion of reading it on for the PC. Much better! I found the instructions (which cover replacing the driveway and paint color of a house) helpful, easy to follow, and pretty well written.
My issues are with the value. Although I got it for free, the list on this pamphlet is $9.77. That's a little steep for 46 pages of information that with a little searching, you can probably get for free online. Now that price may be for prime members who are looking to rent something, but I wouldn't be too happy if I used my monthly rental on this booklet. I just don't think enough information is included to warrant that price point.
So, if you can get this book for free or $0.99, go for it. If not, you may want to keep looking for something with a few more pages of instruction.
Great seller
